How Do You Honor The Buffalo Club?

HOW DID THE BUFFALO CLUB GET ITS NAME?

SURPRISE ATTACK!

All Buffalo Club members have been there before, hanging out with your friends enjoying a cool beverage when all of a sudden, without warning someone calls out "buffalo!"  You hang your head in shame, utter a curse word or three.  You then begin to chug in shame the beverage that once was tasty, but now has become your worst enemy. 

The buffalo violation can occur at any time and any place.  To no surprise, this is similar to the manner of the mighty beast the Buffalo Club is named after.  The buffalo's (or bison's) temperament is often unpredictable. They usually appear peaceful, unconcerned, even lazy, yet they may attack anything, often without warning or apparent reason (wikipedia).  

As a proud Buffalo Club member, calling a buffalo violation or "attacking without warning" is one of the greatest pleasures of this worldwide herd!  To many who are not familiar with this joyous ritual, this "attack" may appear to be "without warning or apparent reason" but to any honorable member this is commonly known as the Buffalo Club Lifestyle.  Is it possible members of the genius Bison  have been living a secret lifestyle long before humans created a version of their own?

Could it be said the behavior of buffalo observed by many during the gun slinging days of the Wild West could offer an explanation on how the buffalo violation came about and thus how the Buffalo Club got its name?

Go on, Get Buffaloed!

Hello Buffalo Club Nation!  If you have never found your way to Shellie Natho's blog "alone in the woods with scissors," please take a peek and explore her impressive poetry.  When she is not having her work published in collegiate literary journals or writing band biographies for local musicians she is creating great works of art on her blog. One such poem "Go on, Get Buffaloed," especially caught our attention!  As a loyal member of the Buffalo Club Nation we feel it only right to spread the word about Shellie's blog because after all, every one of us knows the feeling of victory when you,"watch in pride as he chugs his shame." 
Go on, Get Buffaloed
We challenge the world each night,
as we raise our glasses to drink
partaking in a game left to fault,
by simply choosing what is “right”
only to lose by way of such mistake.

So, we bellow loud our “BUFFALO” cry
when a member of the herd breaks stride,
steals a drink with his dominant hand
but watch in pride as he chugs his shame
then buys another round to rejoin the game.
